  In order to preserve nature and its ecosystems, the project is a proposal for an archivist species re-designed to collect and store data.
  Synthetic Biology enables us to strip out complexity to create a more understandable version of nature by re-imagining living systems as hardware with DNA functioning as code. Bypassing the need for electronic devices altogether, we could employ living systems for encoding and storing information directly into their DNA. Representatives of natural inhabitants would function as a self-regulating archive system – a backup of nature.
